- Ghana and Bayern Munich legend Samuel Osei Kuffour cannot wait to see Sadio Mané swap Liverpool for the reigning German champions
- Mane, whose current deal with Liverpool runs out in the summer of 2023, is reportedly angling for a move away from Anfield with Bayern Munich leading the race to secure his services
- Kuffour made 277 appearances while scoring nine goals for Bayern Munich, winning the Bundesliga on six occasions as well as the Champions League in 2001
Samuel Osei Kuffour is keen to see wantaway Liverpool forward Sadio Mané join Bayern Munich.
Mané, who enjoyed an outstanding campaign in the just-ended season, has his heart set away from Liverpool despite having a year left on contract with the Reds.
The 29-year-old's reported move to Bayern Munich appears to be seeing the light of day following Liverpool's acquisition of Benfica ace Darwin Nunez.
According to transfer market specialist, Fabrizio Romano, Bayern are getting closer to securing a deal for Sadio Mané with personal terms to be agreed upon soon.
This has excited Osei Kuffour, a Bayern Munich Hall of Famer, who believes Mane will propel the Bavarians to the next level.
“I would be more than glad to have him in a Bayern Munich shirt because he is so special,” said Kuffour, during an interview with Bundesliga official Kwamena Odum as quoted by GOAL.
“If you see the way he plays his football, he can also adapt to the German league because when you play in the Premier League, you can adapt everywhere. So, I am praying and crossing my fingers that Bayern Munich will get him,” he added.
Kuffour feels the Bavarians, who last won the Champions League in 2020, would be in a prime position to lift Europe's premier club competition next season if they signed the Senegalese.
“It will give the Bundesliga an edge also Bayern in the Champions League next season because you can see his contributions with Liverpool in all these years he has been there. He has contributed a lot and when he comes to Bayern it will be the same, he won’t change,” said the former Bayern and Ghana defender.
