Michael Owen’s daughter recently made headlines after it was revealed that’s he would be making an entry in the famous reality TV series Love Island.
Gemma Owen, a stunning 19-year-old, will leave dressage in the hopes of finding love in the hit reality TV show.
Her decision to be part of the show has obviously caused ripples on social media, with former Liverpool and Newcastle striker Owen being the one bearing the brunt of the trolling.
As a matter of fact, during a recent interview with Daily Mail, Owen admitted that the criticism surrounding his daughter’s decision to join the reality TV show affected his family adversely.

"It's hard because I have three other kids and this is their sister and they are reading this stuff," he said.
"[My wife] has been very upset about it. You can say, 'Don't read it', but that's very difficult."
Owen also used his own past online abuse to reference his daughter’s current plight.
"I know she's been used to that sort of thing with me – I've had it all my life. To look at my social media feeds you'd think 70% of the world hates me, but it's different when it's your daughter."
