The out-of-form Englishman could manage just 13 Premier League starts through the season, with former boss Ralf Rangnick overlooking him on several occasions.

According to Football London, Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs who were keeping tabs on the 24-year-old with the view of making a move for him this summer.

With just a year left on his current deal with the Red Devils, reports suggest United may have been tempted to cash in on the forward rather than lose him for free next summer.

However, sources at Old Trafford indicate that United chiefs are unwilling to part ways with their academy graduate.

Marcus Rashford to fight for his place under Erik ten Hag

Daily Mail now reports that Rashford is prepared to "reset and refresh" as he bids to win the favour of incoming United boss, Erik ten Hag.

The publication claims the forward was deemed surplus to requirements on many occasions last term as he recorded his lowest appearances total at the club (25) since 2015-16.

Only 13 of these appearances came from the first whistle, with the rest seeing him come off the substitutes' bench.

Rashford will now be desperate to send a message to Ten Hag as he looks for a fresh start next season.

Ajax star warned against joining Man United

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Louis van Gaal has urged Jurrien Timber not to leave Ajax this summer for a move to Manchester United.

Timber is believed to be on United's radar, with Erik ten Hag said to be keen on reuniting with the youngster at Old Trafford.

However, Van Gaal contends this would not be the right time for the 20-year-old to make a switch to the Premier League.
