New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is set to meet head coach Thomas Tuchel to approve or reject Romelu Lukaku’s loan deal to Inter Milan. Lukaku has set his eyes on returning to Milan after a troublesome spell at Chelsea.
Lukaku, signed a five-year deal when he rejoined Chelsea earlier this summer but both parties are said to be ready to work out an amicable divorce.
The Belgian has struggled for game time this season with young striker Kai Havertz continually preferred ahead of him. He further stirred issues in a controversial interview where he said he wasn’t particularly happy with Thomas Tuchel’s tactics.
This drew the ire of Chelsea’s supporters and Tuchel subsequently dropped him from the next Chelsea game. The 29-year-old apologized but failed to regain his place in the Chelsea team until the last three games of the season where he scored three goals.
