FootballRalf Rangnick: Fans Tear Apart Manchester United After Former Manager Records Huge Victory Against Croatia
- Football fans were quick to note that immediate former Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick beat a star-studded Croatia squad convincingly in his first match in charge of Austria
- Rangnick struggled to register any tangible success during his six-month stay at Old Trafford which saw United finish sixth in the Premier League
- Fans have argued that maybe he was not the problem after all and the Red Devils need a major overhaul to become a competitive side once again
Ralf Rangnick seems to have moved on quickly from his Manchester United woes by leading Austria to a thumping 3-0 defeat of Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.
Rangnick was recently appointed as the national team manager of the Austrian side and he wasted no time in settling in. Football fans took to Twitter and other social media outlets to deride Manchester United for failing to get the best out of the German.
The 63-year-old was brought in as an interim manager following the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He failed to turn around the fortunes of the club and United ended up with their lowest-ever tally in a Premier League season.
He however seemed to rediscover his Midas touch when he led out Austria for the first time at the Gradski Stadium to face the World Cup 2018 finalists. Goals from Marko Arnautovic, Michael Gregoritsch and Marcel Sabitzer were enough for Austria to send a statement.
They now sit on top of League A Group 1, tied on points with Denmark. The Danes themselves recorded a shock victory over France in Paris.
Given his struggles with United, fans did not let that slide and chided the club in a comical fashion.

You exposed the bigger issues at Manchester United while upper management used you as the scapegoat. Easily our best appointment. Thank you for everything, Ralf Rangnick.

Ralf Rangnick (the worst coach ever coached United) is balling with a dead Austria team. The moment you realize the problem is United. The better for you.
