Andre Ayew has applauded AS Roma teen talent Felix Afena-Gyan and Nantes attacker Osman Bukari on the back of their maiden goals for the Black Stars.

Ayew, who captained Ghana to its first victory of 2022 against Madagascar, was full of praise for the youngsters.

Afena-Gyan and Osman Bukari were on the scoresheet as the Black Stars thumped Madagascar 3-0 in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, which was staged at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday evening.

In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, the skipper of the national team congratulated his teammates for their recent feat as Ghana commenced their quest for AFCON qualification in a grand style.

Up next for Andre Ayew and his teammates is an away fixture against the Central Africa Republic on Sunday, June 5.

Meanwhile, AS Roma teen sensation Felix Afena-Gyan has expressed his utmost joy after notching his maiden goal for the Black Stars.

The 19-year-old broke his goal-scoring duck for the four-time African champions in Ghana's 2023 Africa Cup of Nations against island country, Madagascar.

Afena-Gyan, Ghana's youngest-ever European Cup winner, tucked home from close range to double Ghana's lead in a comprehensive 3-0 win over the Barea of Madagascar.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that youngsters Mohammed Kudus and Felix Afena-Gyan scored in quick succession before Osman Bukari netted late as Ghana made light work of Madagascar to start the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers on a winning note.

The Black Stars got off to a bright start and should have broken the deadlock after three minutes when Jordan Ayew saw his low strike go inches wide.

Ten minutes later Fatawu Issahaku fired from outside the box and missed narrowly before combining with Afena-Gyan two minutes later, but the AS Roma forward's strike was deflected out for a corner kick.
