Liverpool’s James Milner has honoured by the British Empire for his services in football and charity.
The midfielder has been awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Year honours list.
The Queen is marking 70 years as the reigning monarch of the British Empire.
The Reds' vice-captain was given the title for his services to football and charity. He has run the James Milner Foundation since 2011 and his football career has now spanned 20 years, The Liverpool Echo reported.
Milner’s foundation promotes healthy recreation for youngsters in the United Kingdom. The foundation hosts an annual ball and auction to raise funds.
His professional career started in 2002 when Milner was just 16-years-old.
He has played to Leeds United, Swindon Town, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Manchester City and finally Liverpool. He has made 588 top-flight appearances thus far during his career, Liverpool confirmed on their website. 199 of those games have been for The Reds.
