Former AC Milan and Internazionale centre-forward Christian Vieiri has proposed Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as the perfect replacement for wantaway Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane.
The former Azurri forward believes Osimhen's attributes will suit Liverpool's style of play, thus urging the Reds to chase for the Napoli hitman.
Liverpool, losing finalists of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League, are sweating over the future of Senegalese forward Sadio Mane, who is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge away from Anfield.
Mane, who has refused to comment on questions about his long-term future, still has one year remaining on his current contract with Liverpool but has been strongly linked with a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Speaking on his own Twitch channel as quoted by Yahoo Sport, the former Christian Vieiri said: “If I were Liverpool, I would go and take Osimhen from Napoli. Everyone runs in Klopp’s squad, they go a thousand miles an hour. He would be perfect.”
The 2022 AFCON winner joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2016 and has gone on to win the Champions League, Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup and Carabao Cup with the Reds, scoring 120 goals in 269 appearances for the Merseyside outfit.
Sadio Mane agrees to join Bayern Munich
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has reportedly agreed to join Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich on a three-year deal.
The Senegalese has been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield this summer despite having one year left on his contract with the English Premier League club.
Liverpool’s Twitter account DaveOCKOP tweeted that the 30-year-old has officially agreed to personal terms to join the German club ahead of next season.
