Cameroon Legend Samuel Eto'o Refuses to Pay Child Support for Daughter

Four-time African Player of the Year Samuel Eto’o has refused to pay child support for his 22-year-old daughter Erika do Rosario.

The former Barcelona forward discovered to be the biological father of Erika following a Madrid court ruling earlier this year.

The court delivered a verdict that the Cameroon legend must pay a €1400 allowance per month to the woman as child support, Mirror Reports.

Eto’o now owes Erika and her mother, Adileusa, an unpaid allowance of €40,000.

Adileusa told La Vanguardia in an interview, quoted by Mirror:

"Doctors needed to know the medical history of the parents, to find out if there is a history. She was three and a half years old.

However, the former Inter Milan striker is refusing to pay that, as he has been quoted saying:

"I contacted a mutual friend and he replied that he (Eto'o) preferred not to intervene. 'Look, Dee Dee, already I've told him and the last time he replied 'for me it as if the mother and the girl are dead, leave me alone'. I was absolutely devastated," Adileusa added.

Adileusa reportedly met the ex-Cameroon forward in a Madrid nightclub in 1997, when he used to play for Leganes, and she found out about being pregnant in 1998.

She started the lawsuit back in 2018 and made efforts to provide evidence to support her testimony that Samuel Eto’o is actually the biological father of her daughter.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cameroon football legend Samuel Eto’o could be dragged to court again for ignoring a ruling confirming he is the father of a 22-year-old lady.

The former Barcelona striker could face fresh legal action as he is yet to take responsibility and make payments to the family, Marca reports.

Mirror reports that the FECAFOOT president has never accepted that he is the biological father of Erika Do Rosario Nieves and failed to attend court sessions, which came to a conclusion in February.
