Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has warned Sadio Mane against dumping Liverpool this summer.
Despite have a year left on his current deal, Mane is understood to be staring at an uncertain future with the Reds.
According to Metro UK, the Senegal international has already made a decision to leave Liverpool this summer, with Bayern Munich believed to be strong favourites to land his services.
Steven Gerrard asks Sadio Mane to stay at Liverpool
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has now asked Mane to reconsider his decision to leave the club, warning the winger he would be making a huge mistake if he quits.
Daily Mail reports the midfield icon questioned why the ex-Southampton ace 'want to leave this Liverpool team' after another successful season with the Merseyside club that saw them win the Carabao Cup and FA Cup titles.
"[Mohamed] Salah has already said that he is going to be here next year, I know there is a bit of noise around Mane," Gerrard noted.
"But why would you want to leave this Liverpool team because you know that they are going to be competitive in the business end of the season?" He continued.
Sadio Mane's career at Liverpool
Mane moved to Anfield in 2016 from Premier League rivals, Southampton, and has gone on to enjoy an illustrious with the Merseysiders.
The Africa Cup of Nations winner is widely regarded as a Reds legend, having scored 120 goals and bagged 48 assists for Jurgen Klopp’s side to win the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
