FootballRomelu Lukaku: Chelsea Striker Fires Agent As He Seeks To Move Back to Inter Milan
- Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has changed his agents as he seeks to seal a move back to his former club Inter Milan when the transfer window opens
- Lukaku’s return to Chelsea nine months ago has not turned out as expected with the striker facing sharp criticisms from fans for poor displays
- The striker’s new agent has already begun talks with Inter Milan where he was a hero after leading the club to the Serie A title during his two years in Italy
Romelu Lukaku has cut off ties with his agent as he steps up his efforts to seal an Inter Milan comeback. The Chelsea striker wants to exit Chelsea this summer and is said to be pulling all stops to make that happen.
Lukaku has now severed ties with Federico Pastorello, the agent who has been in charge of his transfers. He has now turned to Sebastien Ledure who is a lawyer by profession as he angles for a San Siro return.
The Belgian’s return to Stamford Bridge has been underwhelming. Poor performances and unauthorized interviews have made life extremely difficult for the 29-year-old.
Ledure has already initiated talks with Inter Milan’s director Beppe Marotta according to The Mirror. Lukaku is keen to return to Italy where he enjoyed massive success. He was part of Antonio Conte’s squad which won the Serie A title in 2021.
The big center-forward did not hide his intentions of going back to Inter Milan in an explosive interview with Sky Italia in December. That interview is believed to be the genesis of his Chelsea problems.
Signed for 100 million euros from Inter, Lukaku started his second Chelsea spell with a bang, scoring on his debut against Arsenal and twice against Aston Villa. He then suffered a serious dip in form that saw Kai Havertz bench him continuously.
Chelsea asked to consider Lautaro Martinez over Robert Lewandowski as Romelu Lukaku's replacement
FootballHe however recovered his form towards the end of the season to help Chelsea finish third after a grueling season. Thomas Tuchel has had to deal with Lukaku’s off-the-pitch antics, the sanctions placed on the club by the British government, the uncertainty around the club’s ownership status and massive injuries to key players in the squad.
Chelsea are now set to lose a huge chunk of the money they invested in Lukaku as no club will meet his current valuation.
