Cesc Fabregas has placed Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on top of his list for the Ballon d'Or award.
The Spanish midfielder has earlier stated that the Ballon d'Or winner could be decided at the end of the UEFA Champions League game between Real Madrid and Liverpool, with Karim Benzema, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane on his initial list.
However, after the game, Fabregas changed his mind and now believes Courtois should be the man leading the Ballon d'Or debate.
"Not a big fan of individual trophies like that but surely the Ballon d'Or could/should be decided tonight? Mane? Salah? Benzema?" Fabregas posted in an earlier tweet.
Thibaut Courtois made the difference as Real Madrid won their 14th UEFA Champions League title, forcing the AS Monaco player to reverse his earlier stance.
"I would add and most probably give it to Courtois. Insane season," tweeted Fabregas after the game.
Vinicius Jr netted the only goal of the game in the second half as the Spanish giants reclaimed the title.
