The biggest club football match is scheduled to take place at the Stade de France on Saturday when Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final.

On the eve of each match, coaches and some players of each team are expected to speak to the media in what is termed as traditional press conference.

And on Friday ahead of the game, Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema was considered to address the media, together with the club's manager Carlo Ancelotti.

However, according to Spanish journalist Miguel Ángel Díaz, the Frenchman decided not to attend the press conference due to superstition.

Per the sports reporter, Benzema feels his presence at the presser a day before the titanic clash is a bad omen for the Los Blancos.

On February 15, a day before Real Madrid's game against PSG at Parc des Princes, the Ballon d'Or contender appeared before the press, Real Madrid lost 1-0 in the round of 16 first leg.

This is something clearly, Benzema wants to avoid in the final tomorrow.

In a video uploaded on Real Madrid's official YouTube channel, Benzema revealed the superstitious pre-match routine he goes through before kick-off that he believes delivers good luck to his boots.

He first hangs his right foot in the air, where the toes are touched by the club's kitman, before the process is repeated with the left foot and he can then take to the pitch.

Also, the 33-year-old keeps wearing his finger bandage, although it is supposed that he has already recovered from the injury – and his performances improved too when he was wearing it!
