Ousmane Dembele Is Ready To Quit Barcelona With Paris Saint Germain and Chelsea Interested

Ousmane Dembele has put European clubs on high alert after it emerged that he has turned down a new contract from Barcelona. Dembele is keen to move on and Paris Saint Germain have now emerged as the frontrunner to sign him.

Dembele has been involved in a row with Barcelona over his contract. Barcelona President Joan Laporta asked him to leave the club in January after talks broke down completely.

He was subsequently booed by Barca’s supporters at Camp Nou. Head coach Xavi Hernandez stuck with him and he repaid his faith by putting in impressive performances in the second part of the season.

The French winger finished the season with a league-high of 13 assists. Many expected that he would agree to a new deal, but nothing has been agreed on so far.

PSG and Chelsea are the outright favourites to sign the 25-year-old. Caught Offside explains that Dembele is excited at the idea of teaming up with his international teammate Kylian Mbappe.

The Ligue One champions are also in the market to look for Angel Di Maria’s replacement. Di Maria’s seven-year stay at the club came to an end with the club not interested in renewing his contract.

Chelsea are also keen to bolster their attacks. Their head coach Thomas Tuchel worked with Dembele briefly at Borussia Dortmund and a reunion could be in the works now that the ownership situation has been resolved.

Barca News reports that Dembele’s agent Moussa Sissoko has already met with PSG’s boss Nasser Al-Khelaifi and the club will be willing to meet Dembele’s wage demands.

Sports Brief had previously reported that an adorable photograph of Memphis Depay together with his Ghanaian father Dennis Depay and Dutch mother Cora Schensema had surfaced on the internet.

The photo of the couple with their newly-born child, which has since gone viral, comes on the back of a video which emerged earlier of Memphis revealing he has reconciled with his biological father, after many years of estranged relationship.

In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, the viral photo shows Memphis in the hands of his mum alongside his Ghanaian dad in a hospital setting.
