Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has thrown light on a near-brawl with clubmate Gianluca Mancini after AS Roma clinched the inaugural Europa Conference League title on Wednesday.
AS Roma became the first club to win the maiden edition of the third-tier European competition, after Nicolo Zaniolo's first-half strike pipped Feyenoord in the finals.
After the game, players from AS Roma were involved in the usual title celebrations after annexing the Europa Conference League. However, a key highlight of the celebrations was an incident between Mancini and Afena-Gyan.
In a post on Twitter, sighted by Sports Brief, a fired-up Mancini appeared to have lost his cool as he pushed the Ghanaian youngster.
The incident involving the Roma vice-captain and Afena-Gyan got tongues waging and left social media users bemused with the unusual antics of Mancini.
But the Black Stars forward has moved quickly to squash any rumour of internal wrangling among the Roma players, stressing the incident was purely lighthearted.
“It wasn’t serious. We joke and fight at the same. That’s how he is. It’s normal..nothing serious” Afena-Gyan said as quoted by Saddick Adams.
