- They will have to negotiate the challenge posed by the University of Pretoria as well Cape Town All Stars
The DStv Premiership season might have come to an end, bar a few catch-up games, but the fun will continue for neutrals elsewhere.
The Premier Soccer League promotion-relegation play-offs will begin next week Wednesday. The mini-tournament will see the 15th-placed team in the DStv Premiership and the second and third-placed sides in the GladAfrica Champions battle it out for a place in next season's top-flight campaign.
As reported on the PSL's website, Moroka Swallows dodged the relegation axe that claimed Baroka FC's status in the big times officially last Saturday. AmaTuks finished as runners-up in the National First Division to Richards Bay FC, with All Stars having to settle in behind them.
According to the Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation, in the previous 11 play-offs since they began at the end of the 2010-11 season, Vasco Da Gama, Santos, Chippa United, Moroka Swallows, University of Pretoria and Platinum Stars Stars are the PSL teams which have been relegated after the mini tournament.
The play-offs are set to finish in the middle of June, which is not ideal for any team needing rest while preparing for next season.
