The game was deadlocked at 1-1 with 15 minutes left on the clock when the match was called off, IOL reported.

Golden Arrows took the lead in the second minute of the match when Velemseni Ndwandwe opened the scoring. Usuthu levelled the game through Sphesihle Maduna before halftime.

The unrelenting rain eventually brought the game to a halt. The Premier Soccer League then confirmed that AmaZulu and Golden Arrows will replay their fixture today at 3 pm.

What a win would mean for AmaZulu or Golden Arrows

AmaZulu are unbeaten since Benni McCarthy left the club and Brandon Truter replaced him. The team have played six games in the league since, winning three and drawing three.

Usuthu will finish in the top eight no matter what happens in the remaining fixtures and qualify for the MTN 8 tournament at the start of the new season. Golden Arrows are also looking to get into the top eight and need a victory to do so. Golden Arrows will then have to rely on SuperSport United losing or drawing with Orlando Pirates in their final game of the season.

Brandon Truter optimistic about his future

Interim AmaZulu coach Brandon Truter is confident that he will be given the position permanently ahead of the new season.

Truter took over from McCarthy at the end of March and has yet to taste defeat. As reported by Sowetan LIVE, Truter believes that he has passed the audition to be named as the new head coach of the KZN club.

Stuart Baxter officially shortlisted for AmaZulu coaching role, Brandon Truter sets focus on upcoming season

The AmaZulu head coach position could soon be filled as the season draws to an end. AmaZulu has been without a coach since the club parted ways with Benni McCarthy in March and have since appointed Brandon Truter in a caretaker role.

The Usuthu are unbeaten under Truter and believes that he should be handed the role on a permanent basis. The South African has now reported that former Kaizer Chiefs coach, Stuart Baxter, has been shortlisted for the vacant post.

Baxter along with Brandon Truter, Kaitano Tembo and Steve Komphela have all been shortlisted. Truter himself confirmed that Baxter was on the list for the post but added that he was focused on securing the job for himself permanently.
