New Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has outlined the club's minimum target for next season.

Ten Hag has officially replaced Ralf Rangnick as United's permanent manager, with the Dutchman expected to embark on his new role immediately after the conclusion of the 2021/22 season.

Erik Ten Hag sets the minimum target for Man United players next season

Ten Hag has now disclosed that United's minimum target for next season is qualifying for the Champions League.

Metro UK reports that the 52-year-old insists breaking back into the top four represents a ‘prerequisite’ for a club of United’s stature.

"That’s a must. The goal is to make Manchester United Europe-proof again, like we did with Ajax, reaching the Champions League with Manchester United is a prerequisite," Ten Hag noted.
