Riyad Mahrez has shot to the top of the lists of Africans who have won multiple English Premier League titles after Manchester City clinched their 4th league crown in 5 seasons.
Mahrez started for Manchester City but had to be substituted as the Citizens battled back from two goals down against Aston Villa to win 3-2 in dramatic fashion at the Etihad stadium.
According to a report via Goal, The Algerian now joins Ivorian legend, Didier Drogba on top of the lists as both players have won the English topflight league four times in their illustrious careers.
Also on the list of Africans to have won the English Premier League includes Yaya Toure who won the league on three different occasions.
Nwankwo Kanu, John Obi Mikel, and Michael Essien are other African players that also won the Premier League twice in their careers.
Mahrez says Liverpool hates Manchester City
Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez has stirred a bit of controversy less than 24 hours after winning his fourth Premier League trophy with Manchester City.
According to the Daily Express, Mahrez has claimed that Liverpool ‘hate’ Manchester City and plans to heap further misery on the Reds after claiming the Premier League title.
The Reds have always been close competitors with Man City for the title in the last five seasons but lost out narrowly by one point this term to Pep Guardiola’s team.
