- The striker, however, could remain at Old Trafford next season, with United staff reportedly determined to have him stay
- The staff, including Ralf Rangnick, have reportedly started efforts to convince Erik Ten Hag to include Rashford in his plans
Incoming Manchester united manager Erik Ten Hag has been urged to keep Marcus Rashford despite the winger’s struggles this season.
Overall, Manchester United have struggled in the 2021/22 campaign, and they will have to wait until the final day of the season to know whether they will be in the Europa League.
For Rashford, the winger has been unable to find his feet since the Euros last year, and there have been numerous reports he could be headed for the exit door.
However, a report from the Sun, cited on Daily Star, suggests Rashford could stay at United, at least for another season, as staff at the club are ready to convince Ten Hag to offer the forward another chance.
Ten Hag is believed to be looking for a strike partner for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has already been assured of a future under the Dutch manager.
United staff, including interim boss Ralf Rangnick, still have faith that the best is yet to come from Rashford, and will attempt to woo Ten Hag into allowing the 24-year old to stay at Old Trafford.
Rashford’s current deal expires next summer, and there are no indications that he wants to leave his boyhood club.
However, he might be forced to leave the club in pursuit of first team football if he wants to stand any chance of making Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the Euros.
