Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman has celebrated Barcelona's first-ever UEFA Champions League title, which occurred exactly 30 years ago.
Koeman, regarded as one of the best defenders that have graced football, scored Barcelona's only goal to clinch the club's maiden Champions League title at the expense of Sampdoria.
His goal which landed Barcelona the Holy Grail will be the stepping stone to moulding the Catalan giants into one of Europe's football powerhouses.
In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, Koeman took a journey down memory lane to recount what he describes as one of the greatest moments in his glittering career.
How did Barcelona clinch their first Champions League title?
After living in the shadows of archrivals Real Madrid since the start of Europe's premier club competition, Barcelona finally reached hallowed grounds in 1992.
Coached by the legendary Johann Cruyff, Barcelona coasted to the finals but had a tough nut to crack in Sampdoria which paraded current Italy manager Roberto Mancini.
After a goalless draw in regulation time, the finals headed to 30 minutes of extra-time where the winner was eventually decided.
Ronald Koeman, who had carved a niche for himself as a freekick specialist, scored the game's only goal in the 112th minute via his trademark set-piece.
