English Premier League club Manchester United are monitoring Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as incoming manager Erik Ten Hag is set to embark on his first transfer for the Red Devils.
He could land the Nigerian as his first signing as United continue their search for a lethal striker amid concerns over the uncertain future of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Nation reports that the Dutch tactician has notified the Manchester United board that he wants a new striker at all costs when the summer transfer window opens.
Further reports say that Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are all expected to depart Old Trafford in the next few months.
And United are among the number of clubs chasing the Nigerian international who has notched in 18 goals for Napoli this season in all competitions.
Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport as per Evening Standard claims Man Utd have already made an ‘approach’ for the Nigerian international this summer, while fellow Italian outlet La Repubblica says United are leading the way for his signature, as reported by the Express.
Osimhen is valued at £85million (€100m) by Napoli, an asking price that has not put off United so far.
The report says they have long held an interest in the 23-year-old and there is a strong possibility this Sunday’s match at Spezia will be his last for the Serie A side.
