- Mbappe will carry a one-match suspension into next season after receiving a third yellow card in 10 matches
- It is still unknown which club Mbappe will be playing for next season with Real Madrid feeling increasingly confident of landing the prolific forward
In a a bizzare piece of news, Kylian Mbappe will be forced to wait for his competitive Real Madrid debut should he join the Spanish giants.
Mbappe currently has a Ligue 1 suspension that he will serve at the next club he will play for: should he remain at PSG or join Real Madrid.
The French striker received his 3rd yellow card in 10 matches in PSG's game against Montpellier over the weekend. This carries an automatic one game ban in the French top-flight division.
More bizarrely is that Mbappe will be available for selection in PSG's last game of the season against Metz. The Commission of Discipline in France usually takes time to approve such a suspension and thus, it's usually carried to the next game. The ban according to Marca, is carried by the player, irrespective of the league the player moves to.
And given that the next competitive league game will be next season, Mbappe might as well have to wait for his official debut in Spain, should Real Madrid push through with a deal for the 23-year old.
Uncertainty still remains on the decision Mbappe will make. PSG have continued to make overtures to extend the contract of the World Cup winning super star.
The Los Blancos meanwhile are clinging on to the hope that playing in the white stripes of Europe's most successful club, has been Mbappe's life long dream.
