Kenyan football fans have taken to social media to express their frustrations after the alleged expenditure of the FKF Caretaker Committee was revealed. Reports emerged that the Caretaker committee allegedly used an approximate value of 564 million Kenya shillings in operations.
The Caretaker Committee recently exited office after the completion of its six-month term. Their place was taken by a transition committee which is set to run football issues in the country for the next five weeks.

In essence, it’s only the name of the committee that has changed as the composition of the two teams remains the same. Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed named Retired Judge Aaron Ringera as the chairperson of the committee.
A report by People Daily now shows that the committee used more money than what had been allocated to the previous Football Kenya Federation (FKF), in three years.
The ousted FKF team was given 434 million Ke,nya Shillings in three years according to the Ministry of Sports. Former Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno however refuted the claims saying that the federation had only received 354 million Kenya Shillings.
Of interest, however, is how the Caretaker Committee used 564 million Kenya Shillings in six months. The report claims that the money was used in paying match officials, clubs and other key operations.

Riddle me this, FKF are alleged to have misappropriated KShs 431m given to them in three years but there’s Kshs 564m to spend on expenses in six months?
All the while footballers, clubs, refs – are all suffering from this impasse with FIFA.

I pray to run Kenyan football someday so that I can try end this circus. If I don't manage at least I will die trying. So many depend on this beautiful game for a living. It's the only life they have ever known, the fans are suffering too. 4 the love of God, It's high time we did things right.
At the same time, Sports Brief has reported on how Kenya's Harambee Stars are in danger of being kicked out of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for failing to meet demands set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

FootballKenya is currently suspended from all footballing activities due to government interference in the administration of the sport.
The ban was slapped by the world football governing body, FIFA, back in February 2022, meaning no Kenyan team can play internationally.
