Barcelona and Real Madrid will treat fans to the infamous el Classico rivalry as early as July 2022 in Las Vegas.

The two La Liga giants will play each other at an exhibition game in what will be a warm up for the new campaign.

A number of top European clubs are set to tour the United States in preparation for the new season, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

According to StadiumDB , significant progress has been made to have the el Classico take place inside the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as part of the pre-season preparations.

Spanish publication AS further reports that an agreement is yet to be officially reached, although there is a huge possibility that the Allegiant Stadium will host the encounter.

If the fixture comes to pass, it will be the second time in history that the el Classico is played in the United States.

The first time this happened was in the summer of 2017, when the two sides clashed at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

That was a time when el Classico was at its peak, as fans were treated to the iconic Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi rivalry.

For that game, Barcelona emerged 3-2 winners in front of a sold-out stadium.

Another team that is set to play in the United States during pre-season is Chelsea who will take on Club America inside the Allegiant Stadium on July 16.
