Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard was in high spirits despite his side being knocked out by Chelsea in the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, May 5.
Videos of the Belgian laughing and catching up with his former teammates at full time have surfaced online and it was quite a sight for many fans.
This was the first time Hazard returned to Stamford Bridge since a famous €100 million move to Real Madrid back in 2019.
As a Real Madrid player, Hazard has been plagued by injuries and has only managed 755 minutes across all competitions this season.
Despite injuries hampering his playtime, Zidane sought his services for the second leg clash in the hopes of getting to the final, with the game finely poised at 1-1 from the first leg.
But Hazard failed to make the sort of impression that saw him become one of the best Premier League players during his time at Chelsea.
At the full-time whistle, cameras zoomed in on Hazard and despite being knocked out of the competition, the 31-year old looked anything but gutted.
He shared a touching moment for his former teammate Ceasar Azpilicueta and was seen laughing and catching up with Kurt Zouma.
As expected, the scenes left fans talking on social media.
“Hazard played against Real Madrid and this is evidence. How do you laugh after just losing a semi final?” One fan asked.
“I am convinced Hazard was playing for Chelsea,” another added.
“Eden Hazard could genuinely not care less about Real Madrid. Gareth Bale and now him,” said another.
Hazard signed for Chelsea in 2013, barely a year after the Blues came up with one of the most heroic Champions League triumphs in history, beating Bayern Munich in the final.
Nine years on and Chelsea will have the chance to replicate their 2012 victory when they take on Manchester City in an all-English final for the second time in three years.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Chelsea will play Premier League rivals Man City in the finals of this season's Champions League.
The Blues saw off Real Madrid in a crunch fixture in the semi-finals to book a slot in the last round of the European competition for the first time since 2012 when they also won the title.
Thomas Tuchel-tutored side secured a 3-1 goal aggregate against the La Liga giants to progress, with Timo Werner and Mason Mount scoring the all-important goal during the second leg of the tie played on the night of Wednesday, May 5, at Stamford Bridge.
There was all to play for during the clash, especially considering both teams had settled for a 1-1 draw in the reverse tie staged at the Angelo Di Stefano last week.
However, Chelsea had a slight edge ahead of the return leg meeting, having snatched a crucial away during their trip to Spain courtesy of Christian Pulisic.
Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel has boasted that Chelsea are going to Istanbul to win the Champions League.
The Chelsea manager saw his side put up a phenomenal show to defeat Real Madrid in the semifinal.
It will be an all English team Champions League final as Chelsea face Man City on May 29.
