FootballMamelodi Sundowns Stuck With Problem in Which Loaned Out Players Are Struggling for Game Time Elsewhere

- The team is stuck with a problem of a large squad from which many players have to be sent out on loan for game time elsewhere
- However, according to rumours, some of these highly-rated players have had not been playing at their temporary homes
Mamelodi Sundowns has a problem on its hands regarding players in the club's wider squad who need game time.
Boasting the biggest and best squad in South Africa, the club is forced to send many players on loan around the country to get mileage on their clocks. However, it appears that this has not been the case for the more highly-rated ones.
A source close to the club said to the Citizen that these players might have to be released when the returned home, saying:
“The main problem is the two who are at Swallows (Grant Margerman and who were given game time but didn’t make full use of it. They had spent a season with Sundowns before they were loaned out and were expected to show that they want to return and break into the team.
“I have heard that they could be loaned out again or even released because they do not have space in the team when you look at how they performed. “The other one is (Luvuyo) Phewa. He has done well at AmaTuks but the problem is that he has a lot of competition in the position he plays. But they want him back so he can learn from the likes of (Andile) Jali and grow within the team."
Because of these "nice life problems", the club has come under fire from other coaches in the league. Amazulu assistant coach Siyabonga Nomvethe said that the club had hoovered 75% of the league's best players.
