- TS Galaxy and Marumo Gallants played out to a goalless draw in their penultimate game of the season
The relegation battle in the DStv Premiership stole the show this weekend.
TS Galaxy, Swallows FC, Baroka FC and Chippa United were all the action and all occupied spots in the bottom five of the table.
The other side in the bottom five, Maritzburg United, were due to face Orlando Pirates but the Buccaneers were unable to contest the fixture due to CAF Confederation Cup commitments.
With one game still to go in the battle for survival, it was Baroka FC who produced the result of the weekend, beating SuperSport United 3-1. The league’s bottom side secured the victory thanks to two penalties which Bonginkosi Makume put away and an Evidence Makgopa goal.
The win saw Baroka remain rooted to the bottom of the table on 25 but they have drawn level with Swallows FC who are also on 25 points. Swallows are a place above Baroka due to goal difference.
Swallows were unlucky not to have won their game against Chippa United, a game they dominated. Swallows needed the win to drag them out of the relegation zone.
The side just above them, TS Galaxy, also couldn’t get more than a point today as they drew 0-0 with TS Marumo Gallants. TS Galaxy remains two points above both Swallows and Chippa with one game to go.
Chippa United focus on themselves aiming to compound Moroka Swallows' relegation and player strike woes
Moroka Swallows' off-field troubles won't be of significance as far as Chippa United are concerned. The two relegation-threatened teams will meet in a crunch six-pointer in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Their opponents are in big trouble going into the match, with players having refused to train after not receiving their salaries, as was reported by IOL.
