There is still no new news on whether Samir Nurković will remain with Kaizer Chiefs or not.
The 29-year-old Serbian striker has been in the centre of recent transfer news after reports broke that he had signed for Royal AM from the Sowetan side.
The player’s agent denied that the transfer rumours were true, and Royal AM CEO Sinky Mnisi also rubbished the claims, Goal.com reported.
One person who won’t be sad to see Nurković go is Patrick Mayo. The former Amakhosi legend believes that his former side are right to let the Serbian striker go, KickOff reported.
"Personally, I wouldn't say my heart is broken at him leaving. Because we were expecting a lot from him as an international player. But unfortunately, he is not giving us what we expected from him, he failed at Chiefs.
Mayo added that foreign players should be superior to locals, and Nurković was not living up to that belief. The former Chiefs star also believes that Nurković leaving will give youngsters a chance to develop further at the club and shine. However, he believes that the Amakhosi need to find a proven goalscorer to come in and help Chiefs get immediate results.
"They will have to go outside the country to find a striker that will immediately do the job Nurkovic failed to do. Locally I don't see anyone who can arrive at Chiefs and be a top striker," he added.

FootballIs Samir Nurković a Royal AM player, or isn’t he? That’s the question football fans, and news outlets are currently asking, Sports Brief earlier reported.
In the last month of his contract with the Amakhosi, the Serbian forward is free to sign for any other club. Kaizer Chiefs had until the end of March to exercise the option of extending his contract by a year but failed to do so.
The Glamour Boys asked to be given until the end of May to decide, but the player’s agent denied this. KickOff reported earlier that Nurković had agreed on a lucrative two-year deal with Shauwn Mkhize’s side with a further option of an additional year.
