Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool midfielder Fabinho will miss his side's FA Cup final meeting with Chelsea.
The two English giants are set to face off on Saturday, May 14, at Wembley Stadium, with the clash presenting Liverpool with an opportunity to lift the second trophy this season.
However, the Reds will have to do that without Fabinho who has been instrumental in their spectacular season thus far.
Why Fabinho will miss the FA Cup final
Fabinho was ruled out of the FA Cup final after he picked an injury during his side's Premier League meeting with Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
According to Metro UK, the Brazilian football star sustained a muscular problem during the encounter, thus ruling him out of the Wembley trip.
While issuing an update on Fabinho's injury status, Klopp divulged that the 28-year-old can only be available for selection in the latter stages of the season but not on Saturday.
"There’s a good chance that he will be back whenever – not for the weekend but whenever," Klopp told Liverpool's official website.
Fabinho has been a mainstay in Liverpool’s team this term and has played a crucial part in the Reds' push to win the Premier League and reach the Champions League final.
