FootballChelsea Fans Want Romelu Lukaku To Start Against Liverpool in FA Cup Final After Another Dominant Display
- Chelsea fans praise Romelu Lukaku after the striker played decently in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over Leeds United on Wednesday night
- Lukaku was on the scoresheet again, scoring his side’s third goal three days after netting a brace against Wolverhampton Wanderers
- He is now a strong contender to lead Thomas Tuchel’s line on Saturday when they play Liverpool in the FA Cup final at Wembley
Chelsea fans took to social media to praise Romelu Lukaku for his strong display against Leeds United. The Blues won 3-0 convincingly to end a three-match winless streak.
Lukaku started his second successive game for Chelsea. He scored a brace last time out in the two-all draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Head coach Thomas Tuchel decided to trust him upfront once again, pairing him with Mason Mount and Cristian Pulisic.
Tuchel’s decision worked with the front three all getting their names on the scoresheet. Lukaku was a constant threat to Leeds United. Jesse Marsch's side did little to contain Lukaku and his teammates and are now staring down on the barrel of relegation.
Lukaku’s return to Chelsea hasn’t panned out as expected. The Belgian has, however, put in solid performances in his last two games that have got Chelsea fans excited about the 100 million euros striker.
@matissearmani tweeted
Brilliant performance from Lukaku. Didn’t even need the goal for that to be the case, just the icing on the cake. Competed aerially today like a real leader of the line, always involved. Earned his start on Saturday, default option.
The Belgian has surely forced his way into Tuchel’s plans ahead of the FA Cup final showdown against Liverpool on Saturday. Preferred striker Kai Havertz has fallen off the rails in the last few games and Tuchel might just be tempted to hand Lukaku a starting berth at Wembley.

Chelsea pursuing Nkunku
Lukaku’s struggles this season have seen Chelsea consider putting him up for sale after just one season. He penned a five-year deal when he joined Chelsea from Inter Milan.
Sports Brief had reported that The Blues are inquiring about the availability of RB Leipzig's Cristopher Nkunku. Nkunku has been prolific this season in the Bundesliga.
