The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has finally convinced Germany-born defender Stephan Kofi Ambrosius to play for the Black Stars.
The Hamburg-born centre-back, who plays for Hamburg SV in German Bundesliga 2, hasn't been involved in any of the 33 matches that his team have played due to injury.
The last 2. Bundesliga game that Ambrosius played came on April 25, 2021, for Hamburger SV against Jahn Regensburg; a game that he played 86 minutes in during a 1-1 draw.
However, the GFA has taken the initiative to convince Ambrosius to represent Ghana at the international level.

Capped by Germany at the Juvenile level, the central defender is eligible to feature for the Black Stars as well.
Although, he was born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, the lanky defender is eligible to play for the four times African champions.
Ambrosius snubbed Ghana for German U21
Meanwhile, Ambrosius rejected Ghana's call up for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations [Afcon] qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome last year.
The budding talent opted to honour the Germany U21 call-up games against Hungary, Netherlands and Romania.
He will be still eligible to play for the Black Stars when he finally decides to switch nationality future.
Prior to joining Hamburger SV in February 2018, Ambrosius made 52 league appearances in total at Hamburger SV II, scoring one goal.
