At the time, the scores were still 0-0, with neither side finding the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes.

Metro UK reports fans picked up what appeared as a spat between Tuchel and Alonso moments before the break of the Saturday, May 7, clash.

According to the publication, Alonso's substitution came after he had sloppily conceded possession, prompting yells from the dugout.

The Spaniard responded by gesticulating angrily and as he argued back.

Marcos Alonso fails to show up for the second half

The ugly confrontation saw Alonso subbed off and failed to return to the pitch for the second half.

The sudden turn of events sparked claims he had a disagreement with Tuchel in the dressing.

However, Tuchel has come out to set the record straight on the incident, rubbishing suggestions of a fallout.

"Yeah for sure. Absolutely yes. It started and ended in the first half and was not continued at half-time and nothing else," the German tactician said when asked if the issue had been resolved.
"It was not continued at half-time and things are solved. That happens," he added.

Chelsea drop points against Wolves

Meanwhile, Chelsea went on to settle for a 2-2 draw with the visiting Wolves, with Romelu Lukaku netting a brace for the Blues.

The Belgian forward scored the opener from the penalty spot in the 56th minute before he doubled the advantage two minutes later.

However, the hosts surrendered the two-goal advantage in the closing stages of the match, with Francisco Trincao and Conor Coady finding the back of the net to ensure the tie ends even.
