FootballSadio Mane: Liverpool Fans React to Senegalese Winger's Potential Move to Bayern
- Majority of Liverpool fans do not want to see Sadio Mane leave the club for Bayern Munich
- Reports on Monday claim Bayern were interested in the Liverpool winger, and subtle talks had already began
- The 30-year old’s current Liverpool deal expires in 2023
Liverpool fans have taken to social media to express their displeasure at rumours that Sadio Mane could be headed to Bayern Munich.
According to stunning reports in Germany recently, the Bavarians are keen on signing the Senegalese, and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has already met up with Mane’s representatives.
Since signing from Southampton in 2016, Mane has been instrumental in Jurgen Klopp’s revival of Liverpool and has won the Premier League and Champions League in the process.
In the 2021/22 season, Mane has been heavily mentioned in the conversation of the Ballon d’or, with many believing the next edition of the individual accolade will be a duel between him and Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
Sports Brief took a look at some of the reaction from fans on Mane’s possible Bayern move, and majority of fans admitted the transfer would ‘hurt’.
“Honestly, if Mane leaves, I will be sad,” one fan said.
“Don’t do this to me man,' added another. 'I’m gonna plaster myself on the runway if Mane tries going Bayern. Not gonna happen.”
Others simply encouraged the Senegal star to leave because Liverpool apparently gave Mohammed Salah more priority when it came to contract talks.
“That's good news to hear. Liverpool don't appreciate this guy instead they promote Salah more than this guy,” said one fan.
“I am happy for this brother,” added another.
Mane’s current Liverpool deal expires in 2023, and upon reports of Bayern’s interest in the 30-year old, Liverpool are reportedly willing to open talks over a potential new deal.
Unlike Salah, Mane’s contract demands are not as lofty as reports from GOAL claim he wants £250,000 to £300,000 per week - a figure that would make him the highest-paid player in the current squad.

FootballMane wants Ballon d'or before retirement
As far as personal ambitions are concerned, Mane is eyeing at least one Ballon d'or before he calls it quits on a lucrative foorball career.
In the history of football, only George Weah who is now the president of Liberia has won the Ballon d'Or award and efforts by other players to do so have been futile.
He came close to win the Ballon d'Or award in 2019 when he finished fourth after the Reds won the Champions League.
