FootballChristian Eriksen Makes Plea to Public Nearly a Year After Harrowing Cardiac Arrest Episode
- Eriksen took part in a heart-screening exercise on Saturday, April 30 to the delight of fans
- The midfielder had a harrowing experience that almost forced him out of football when he suffered cardiac arrest last year
- Brentford’s latest game was a 3-0 defeat to Manchester United in the Premier League
Christian Eriksen won fans on Saturday by making a surprise appearance at a public screening.
Eriksen, 32, showed up for the screening alongside Brentford boss Thomas Frank and sent a delightful message to the public to get checked out.
It was quite interesting to see Eriksen push the screening drive, as the midfielder recently overcame the odds to get back to football after a horrible spell with heart problems.
Last year while representing Denmark against Finland, Eriksen collapsed on the ground and it took a swift response from medics on the ground as well as players to save his life.
The screening took place at the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub in west London and according to The Sun, around 200 fans attended and showed up to get screened in honor of the late Brentford technical director Robert Rowan.
Rowan sadly passed away aged 28 in his sleep after a cardiac episode.
Speaking on the screening, Eriksen described it as an extremely important step, saying:
“I think it's [a] very healthy thing to do.
“And obviously it's something that even in my case, something happened like you wouldn't know was going to happen.
"So, to get that cleared out the way from a doctor’s perspective is only a positive.
"To do a test for a few minutes and get everything sorted out and be safe for your family and for everyone else then it is a very positive thing.

Brentford fans could afford to go for screening on Saturday since their team was not playing in the weekend.
