Ghana's leading all-time top scorer Asamoah Gyan has showered praise on Senegal and Liverpool talisman Sadio Mané.
Gyan, who will be launching his autobiography soon, gave Mané a pat on the back following his impressive performance for both club and country.
The ex-Ghana captain expressed his delight in Mané's goal against Villarreal in the Champions League and assured him of his unflinching support.
"We’re happy for you. Nice goal last [Wednesday] night and congratulations. Your guy [Diouf] told me about you and he said he’ll call so that I speak to you,” Gyan said as quoted by Football Ghana.
Gyan described Mané as the 'face of African football' alongside Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah - who was crowned the Football Writer's Association Player of the Season earlier on Friday.
“You’re the man of the moment and we’re praying for you. Everything is going to be fine… We watch you every week, you and Salah are the face of Africa now and we pray for you.”

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan will outdoor his memoir in a star-studded ceremony in Accra on April 30.
The event which will take place at the plush Kempinski Hotel will chronicle the journey of the striker as a professional.
The book will contain a full, revealing, candid and detailed account of Gyan’s football career that took him from Ghana to Italy, France, England, the United Arab Emirates, China and India.

FootballEarlier, Sports Brief reported that retired Dutch and Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin Van der Sar has tipped Liverpool attacker Sadio Mané for the coveted Ballon d'Or award.
Van der Sar reckons the 2021 AFCON winner should be mentioned in the same breath as Karim Benzema as favourites to clinch the individual accolade.
Benzema's impeccable performance for Real Madrid has put him in pole position to scoop home the award however Edwin Van der Sar, who is the current Chief Executive of Ajax Amsterdam, believes the Senegalese talisman deserves the accolade more.
