Michael Olunga will face Colombian superstar James Rodriguez in the round of 16 stage of the AFC Champions League.

Al Duhail of Olunga will come up against Al Rayyan of Rodriguez in an all Qatar matchup. Al Duhail finished on top of its group with 15 points while Al Rayyan proceeded as the best losers.

Rodriguez however didn’t participate in Al Rayyan’s group stage matches as reports continue to escalate that he wants to leave. They lost one game and drew one to finish second behind Al Hilal on goal difference.

Olunga meanwhile has already scored four times in the competition. Attention has however gone to his teammate Edmilson Junior who leads with eight goals after making a brilliant start to the tournament.

The competition is set to resume next year in February.

Onyango triumphs in South Africa

Meanwhile, in South Africa, Brian Onyango landed his second Premier League title with Mamelodi Sundowns. Sundowns played out to a goalless draw with Cape Town City FC to attain an unassailable lead at the top with four games to go.

The Brazilians as they are fondly known, turned their disappointment of not qualifying for the CAF Champions League semifinals into delight. The Sundowns were beaten by Petro Atletico of Angola over two legs to condemn them to a quarter-final exit.
