Legendary Man United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sent Erik ten Hag a special message following his appointment as the club's permanent boss.
Ten Hag is set to take charge of the Manchester club at the end of the ongoing season on a three-year deal.
The Dutchman's appointment was confirmed by Man United last week, ending months of speculation on who the club would name as a permanent successor of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Ten Hag, who is currently in charge of Dutch giants, Ajax, had to shake off stiff competition from several candidates including Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino to land the lucrative job.

And just days after Ten Hag was handed the Old Trafford role, Ferguson, who is widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in the Premier League has sent his best wishes to the Dutchman.
Speaking recently during a public appearance, the Scotsman revealed his hopes for the latest man to take the Red Devils' top job.
“I hope he does well, the club needs someone to get in control and I hope he does well," Mirror UK quoted the legendary manager saying.
Incidentally, Ten Hag is the fifth permanent manager to take charge at the Theatre of Dreams since the departure of Ferguson at the end of the 2012/13 season.
Since Fergie's exit, United have not tasted Premier League glory, with rivals Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea dominating during the period.
