  • Life after Stuart Baxter appears to be harder than expected following Kaizer Chiefs' 2-1 draw with Golden Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban
  • Khama Billiat put the Amakhosi into the lead in the crucial DStv Premiership, before Siboniso Conco and Michael Gumede fired the home side to the win

Kaizer Chiefs' struggles following the departure of former coach Stuart Baxter continued as they were defeated 2-1 by Kaizer Chiefs at the Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban.

Khama Billiat fired the visitors into the lead in the 18th minute after a swift counter-attack following an Arrows turnover upfront.

In the 60th minute, Chiefs defender Njabulo Ngcobo gave the ball away near his 18-yard area, with Siboniso Conco pounce on it before slotting past a helpless Brandon Pietersen.

Abafana Bes'thende sealed the deal in the 87th minute from a Michael Gumede header via a freekick following a foul committed by Daniel Cardoso.

The fixture will be remembered for Ngcobo's behaviour after he had been substituted not long after his mistake. He ignored interim coach Arthur Zwane's outstretched hand, before having rant on the bench, with teammates trying to calm him down.

The result took Arrows to 35 points, though the remained in ninth spot because of eighth-placed SuperSport United's superior goal difference. Chiefs' hopes of finishing second appear to be fading away, as they remained in fourth place on 39 points, six behind Royal AM on 45 points.

Confirmed line-ups:

Arrows: Mlungwana, Nxadi, Cele, Mantshiyane, Sibiya, Ndwandwe, Magawana, Dube, Mutizwa, Zuke, Mhlongo

Subs: Mbaeva, Magubane, Mathiane, Ndlovu, Conco, Gumede, Dlamini, Fikizolo, Khumalo

Chiefs: Petersen, Ngezana, Mphahlele, Njabulo Ngcobo, Blom, Frosler, Alexander, Nlosingiphile Ngcobo, Dolly, Billiat, Castro

Subs: Bvuma, Cardoso, Nurkovic, Baccus, Parker, Zuma, Radebe, Mabiliso, Sekgota

The hunt for a new coach at Kaizer Chiefs continues, and numerous names have been linked to the post.

As reported by Sports Brief, one former manager, who many think can achieve success at the club, has shot down the idea of a return to the Amakhosi.

Muhsin Ertuğral, who achieved great success while in charge of the club, has spoken out about calls for him to take up the post.
