And as a result of the failure, the NFF chiefs disengaged Eguavoen and his coaching crew even though they recently named Salisu Yusuf and Victor Ikpeba as assistants.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Walter Zenga has already submitted his resume to the Nigerian Football Federation through his agent Alberto Fontana.

Walter Zenga started his football career at Inter Milan in 1978 and he went on to feature in 328 games for the Italian giants winning Serie A title, Italian Super Cup and UEFA Cup.

Walter Zenga's last coaching job was at Italian side Cagliari.

Arsenal lead Manchester United in £85m race to sign top Super Eagles star

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Arsenal joined their Premier League rivals Manchester United in summer race to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen with the Gunners said to be in pole position.

Following a brilliant productive season in front of goal at Napoli, Victor Osimhen has been linked with a move away from the Italian Serie A.

Despite being slowed down this season by injury which kept him out of action for two months, Victor Osimhen has still been able to score 16 goals in 26 games in all competitions.

Those in charge of Premier League side Arsenal feel Victor Osimhen can be a perfect replacement for Aubameyang who has joined Barcelona.

Folarin Balogun is looking set to be the only center forward at Arsenal and gaffer Mikel Arteta want to bolster his squad for next season.
