- Frank Lampard has expressed his displeasure with the level of refereeing during Everton's clash with Liverpool

Everton boss Frank Lampard has sensationally claimed Liverpool tend to get special treatment from referees with key decisions.
Lampard made the claim after his Toffees side suffered a 2-0 defeat on Sunday, April 24, in the hands of Liverpool during the Merseyside derby.
Second-half goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi sealed a routine victory for the Reds who are chasing the English Premier League title.
On their part, the result had a significant impact on Everton's survival chances as they dropped into the relegation zone.
Frank Lampard laments refereeing decisions during Merseyside derby
Speaking after his side's defeat, Lampard cited a second-half incident where he feels his side should have been awarded a penalty.
With Everton trailing by a goal, Anthony Gordon was brought down in the area by Liverpool centre-back, Joel Matip.
But rather than award a penalty, referee Stuart Atwell waved play on much to the chagrin of Everton and Lampard.
According to the former Chelsea boss, the referee would have pointed to the spot if it was Mohamed Salah involved.
“It's a penalty in the second half for us. I don't think you get them here," Goal quoted Lampard saying.
“If it's Mo Salah at their end, he gets a penalty. I'm not trying to create a conflict here, it's just the reality of football sometimes," he added.
