Erik ten Hag's first words after his appointment

The Ajax boss has vowed to steer United back to glory days, revealing he is "absolutely determined" to deliver the long-awaited success for the club.

Speaking to the Man United official website, the 52-year-old divulged he will be looking to give his all at Ajax for the remainder of the season but is looking forward to opening a new chapter with the Red Devils who he wants to help win titles.

"It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve," he said.
"It will be difficult to leave Ajax after these incredible years, and I can assure our fans of my complete commitment and focus on bringing this season to a successful conclusion before I move to Manchester United," he added.

Manchester United's trophy drought continues

Ten Hag's move to Man United comes at a time the Premier League giants are in absolute tatters after another underwhelming season that will see them end the campaign without a trophy.

The Manchester club are already in danger of missing out on a top-four finish as they currently sit sixth on the log behind rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

United's most recent outing ended in a 4-0 humiliating defeat in the hands of archrivals, Liverpool, at Anfield.

Fred welcomes Erik ten Hag's appointment

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Brazilian midfielder Fred has expressed his delight following news that Erik ten Hag will be taking charge of Man United from next season.

The Red Devils have been hunting for a permanent manager to succeed Ole Gunnar Soslkajer who was sacked last December.

And after months of waiting, the Premier League giants have finally settled on Ten Hag, whose arrival comes at a time United are in bad shape.
