Kenyan-born defender Nabilai Kibunguchy finally made his debut for Minnesota United. Kibunguchy joined the Major Soccer League side in 2021 but went on loan to Sacramento Republic FC.
He was handed his first start today morning in a 2-0 win over Forward Madison. The result meant that Minnesota qualified for the round of 16 of the US Open Cup. The 24-year old who lasted the whole 90 minutes, expressed his happiness on his Twitter page.

Minnesota’s goals were scored by Adrien Hunou and Brent Kallman.
Marcelo keeps it clean in Sweden
Harambee Stars full back Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma kept a clean sheet as his AIK side beat Varbergs 1-0 in a Swedish top-tier match. Former Arsenal midfielder Sebastian Larsson scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.
The win was AIK’s second of the season. Marcelo’s side finished second last season and will be looking to improve on their current 10th position if they are to go ahead and challenge for the title.
Other Kenyans in AIK’s books, Henry Meja and Collins Shichenje were absent from the match day’s squad.
Former Gor Mahia defender Frank Odhiambo also sat out of his Djurgarden’s side one-all draw with Goteborg. Odhiambo is still nursing a injury and is yet to make his official debut for his new club.

Arba Minch’s goal was scored by Habib Kemal to take them to 26 points in position seven after 19 rounds of play.
In Zambia, Jesse Were played in Kansanshi Dynamo’s 1-1 draw against Power Dynamos in a top-tier match played at the Solwezi Independence Stadium. Dave Daka scored Kansanshi’s goal before Brian Mwilla snatched a point for Power Dynamos in the 77th minute.
Following the result, Kansanshi are now in position seven with 44 points.
At the same time, Sports Brief had reported that Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga was part of Al Duhail's AFC Champions League squad.
Olunga has so far scored in twice in the group stage matches. Al Duhail are top of their group with 9 points after four matches. They take on Al-Taawon tomorrow.
