Antonio Rudiger unwilling to join Manchester United

However, the Manchester Evening News is reporting that the versatile defender is likely to reject United’s advances in what could be a massive blow to the Red Devils.

According to the publication, the Chelsea ace only wishes to join a club who are certain to qualify for the Champions League next term.

Ralf Rangnick's charges are currently placed fifth on the standings with 54 points, three points off a Champions League spot.

They are currently facing stiff competition from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal in their bid to play in Europe's elite football competition next season.

Man United's defensive woes

United are understood to have trained their eyes on the unsettled Rudiger to help them bolster their defence ahead of next season.

The Old Trafford dwellers have had to contend with defensive woes through this season, with the arrival of Raphael Varane not helping much.

On his part, skipper Harry Maguire has endured a difficult campaign that has also seen him fall out with the support base.
