Potential Black Stars forward Iñaki Williams chalked a landmark feat in the La Liga when Athletic Bilbao clashed with Celta Vigo at the Estadio San Mamés on Easter Sunday.
The 27-year-old's appearance against Celta Vigo meant he had not missed a single league game in the Spanish top-flight for six years.
In total, Williams has played a whopping 224 games in a row for Bilbao - meaning he has not been suspended nor sustained any form of injury in six straight years.
In a post on Twitter, spotted by Sports Brief, the official handle of La Liga celebrated Williams for his incredible durability, which is a record in the Spanish elite division.
His incredible personal feat was not enough as Bilbao stumbled to a 2-0 loss to Celta Vigo at home.
He was replaced by Asier Villalibre after 46 minutes as the fourth most successful club in La Liga suffered their first defeat in the last five league games.
Inaki is being pursued by the Ghana Football Association, who are seeking to bolster the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and following his reaction to a post on Twitter about Ghana, it heightened the talks around his possible nationality switch.
Born in Bilbao, Spain, Williams is eligible to play for Ghana despite playing a game for Spain in a friendly match against Bosnia Hezergovina - where he came on as a substitute for Marco Asensio.
