Kurt Okraku, the head of Ghana's Football Association, says the Black Stars were poised to qualify for the World Cup and were unfazed by trolls from former Nigeria forward Daniel Amokachi.
The former Everton striker, before the double-header play-offs took to social media to take a dig at Ghana, who were at that time struggling to get a venue for their home game.
In a video that went viral last month, Amokachi laughed at Ghana for not having a stadium to hosts the Super Eagles.
“We are at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium. We are ready. Look at how beautiful the pitch is, look at how beautiful the stadium is,” he said.
“We are ready but some people are still looking for a venue. Some people are under confusion, you know who I’m talking about,” he laughed.
Ghana managed to edge Nigeria out and qualify for the World Cup, with the FA boss stating he told the Black Stars players to just remain focused amid the trolls.
"It's a Ghana and Nigeria game, it's a derby and a lot of ingredients go into that soup and the pre-game hype is part of the excitement. They decided to do it the way they did, we decided to contain ourselves in a different way," he said on GTV Sports Plus when asked of the Amokachi trolls.
"In the end, when we arrived in Abuja and I met my boys, I said to them we are here, this is the pitch and we have to take absolute control of the pitch and we did take absolute control of the pitch. Whether it was green pitch, yellowish pitch, violet, both sides played on the pitch and at the end the team that was well structured, that was more organised and more focused qualified."
