Kaizer Chiefs are relentless in their pursuit to sign fresh faces ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.
The Amakhosi have endured another disappointing campaign this year and are looking to bolster their squad by bringing new players in and letting go of others.
Possible players coming in:
As reported by iDiski Times, one of the players identified was Chippa United striker, Bienvenu Eva Nga. The Cameroon forward has scored ten goals this season but has been overshadowed by Victor Letsoalo and Pete Shalulile in the race for the Golden Boot.
Chippa United owner, Chippa Mpengesi, is understood to have agreed a deal in principle with Kaizer Chiefs for the player’s services.
The Amakhosi are also belied to be interested in raiding Chippa United for Veluyeke Zulu. The defender has caught the eye of Chiefs’ scouts with his performances, Soccer Laduma reported.
Chiefs are also keeping an eye on Stellenbosch FC’s Ashley du Preez. The winger has been a target of the Amakhosi for a while now, The South African reported.
While Chiefs are looking to bring in new faces, they’re also trying to lower the average age of the squad. Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jnr, recently spoke about the importance of reducing the average age of the team. Eva Nga is 29, Zulu is 27 and Du Preez is only 24.
The Amakhosi have also signed Siyathemba Sithebe (29), who will join the club at the end of the season when his contract with AmaZulu ends.

Kaizer Chiefs have looked at bolstering their attacking options, as they could lose up to three players. Leonardo Castro (32) and Lazarous Kambole (28) are out of contract at the end of the season and Chiefs are still deciding whether to invoke the contract extension clause for Samir Nurkovic (29).
Kaizer Chiefs looking to raise R20 Million from offloading players at the end of the season
Kaizer Chiefs stands to raise around R20 million for its transfer war chest ahead of the 2022/23 season. After last winning a trophy in 2015, various members are expected to be offloaded at the end of the season in May by the Amakhosi.
This would help the club greatly when it goes on a recruitment drive in trying to cure the seven-year-long itch for silverware. According to KickOff, Leonardo Castro and Lazarous Kambole are on the way out.
With both players' contracts expiring at the end of June, their release will free up around R10 million due to their current wages. Castro is on a package of between R7-8 million while Kambole is on between R2-3 million, Sports Brief reported.
