Super Eagles star Tyronne Ebuehi suffers terrible injury while playing for Benfica

Portugal League side Benfica have confirmed that Nigeria international Tyronne Ebuehi will undergo surgery in a few days from now.
The Super Eagles defender, who recently joined the team suffered an anterior cruciate ligament while in action for his new side during their preseason preparation.
Rui Vitória's men were beaten 4-2 on penalties by Juventus after playing 1-1 in normal regulation period in the International Champions Cup at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.

Tyronne came in for Andre Almeida in the 67th minute to make his debut for the Portuguese topflight side but torn off the front cruciate ligament from his left knee.
"The athlete Tyronne suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and will undergo surgical intervention in the next few days."
Benfica reported the news on their official website on Monday, July 30, and also said that he will be operated this week after which he starts a month-long rehabilitation.
However, it is unsure if the Super Eagles star will be ready to make his official debut for Benfica this calendar year.

Ebuehi joined Benfica from ADO Den Haag this summer on a free transfer and his deal will expire in the summer of 2023.
While playing for his former club, he scored once in 78 appearances for the Netherlands outfit where he spent four seasons before leaving them this month.
In total, the right back played 82 official matches for the Hague, which earned him a place in the Nigerian selection.
With Nigeria he was active at the World Cup in Russia, where he participated 45 minutes against Iceland (2-0 win).
Ebuehi so far came to two incursions in unofficial matches for Benfica. In the battle for the International Champions Cup he attacked Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.
Legit.ng previously reported that Super Eagles defender, Tyronne Ebuehi, joined Portuguese giants, Benfica, on a five-year contract.
Benfica confirmed on their official website on Saturday May 19 that the 22-year-old Ebuehi joined them on a free contract following the expiration of his contract with Dutch club ADO Den Haag who will receive a training allowance of €250,000 euros for the transfer.
