FootballFurious Former Crystal Palace Chairman ‘Attacks’ Everton Dele Alli Over Professional Pride
- Dele Alli is under heavy criticism following his poor spell at his current club Everton as the England international continues to struggle
- Alli joined the Toffees from Premier League rivals Tottenham on deadline day in a reported two-year deal that could cost up to £40 million
- Former Palace chairman Simon Jordan has hit out at the midfielder in a ruthless statement during a show on talkSPORT
Former Crystal Palace chairman who is now a host TalkSPORT, Simon Jordan, has lambasted Dele Alli in a ruthless statement over the Everton midfielder.
Simon Jordan delivered a scathing assessment on the former Tottenham star who joined the Toffees on the January transfer deadline day.
Dele Alli has made 37 appearances for the England national team, but he has been struggling in recent times having managed just six appearances since his move to Goodison Park.
He has struggled to make an impact under Frank Lampard as Everton again lost to West Ham United 2-1 on Sunday, a game Dele was left rooted to the bench.
Jordan brands the player as a ‘complete waste of time’. He said as per SPORTbible:
“He’s a complete and utter waste of time. He was a waste of time at Tottenham for two years, he’s been a waste of time being signed for Everton - it was a waste of time signing.
“I hope I’m wrong because the boy was talented. I don’t think he was ever at a level people built him up to, all of a sudden he was the best number 10 in the world and people were making cases about what a wonderful player he was.
“Now he’s been drop-kicked out of Tottenham and the only reason Everton took him was the fee was deferred and paid into the long grass based upon performance.
“Based upon performance, Everton will get a rebate.
“The kid has got to be embarrassed. Is there any level of professional pride? You’ve been booted out of Tottenham two or three managers didn’t want you, you’ve seen [Jose] Mourinho decimate the way you approach training.”
