Cristiano Ronaldo has finally broken his silence after he missed Manchester United's Premier League clash with Leicester City on Saturday, April 2.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner failed to make the matchday squad for the cracker due to illness.
United announced in a statement that Ronaldo had experienced "flu-like symptoms" and was therefore not fit enough to play.
Ralf Rangnick explains Ronaldo's absence
While discussing Ronaldo's situation, Man United interim boss Ralf Rangnick admitted it was "unfortunate" the striker was absent for selection.
"Unfortunately, he had some 'flu-like symptoms, which he showed yesterday," Rangnick explained.
"Obviously, he should and would have played in the starting XI but he didn't feel well and couldn't train," he added.
Ronaldo breaks his silence on social media
However, it appears the Portuguese made the most of his time off duty bonding with his growing family.
The former United icon broke his silence over his absence from action by sharing a cute family photo.
In the snap, the forward can be seen sitting with his pregnant girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and his four children - Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, and twins Eva and Matteo.
"Family is everything," Ronaldo captioned the photo.
Meanwhile, Man United no doubt missed the services and presence of Ronaldo during the Leicester fixture as they dropped points at home.
The Red Devils had to settle for a frustrating 1-1 draw with the Foxes, with Fred scoring an equaliser to cancel out Iheanacho's opener.
